Knowing however that you interpret those duties in a liberal and fair minded manner, we have no doubt that you will do all you can to prevent any difficulties, which might impede the smooth working of the business by our agent. We learn from New York that you promised our friends to do your best to help the business, which we were very glad to read and for which please

accept our thanks.

In order to strengthen your hands in this regard, we propose writing to H.E. the Governor and particularly in regard to another important matter which is subject to his consent and yours. That is, that we should much like to secure for Mr.Cheetham permission to consult Mr.Hakon Schluter

your assistant on all matters connected with this particular business on which that gentleman's advice may seem to be desirable to our agent.

Stock: Our New York friends are desirous that we should take over

the remaining stock and we are cabling you to-day in regard to it. We may mention that our Agreement with Mr. Cheetham also contains an authority covering this point.
